- Is recognized as one of the finest instructors in the area
- Over the years has worked closely with some of the best hitting coaches in the game, including Hall of Famer's Rod Carew and Reggie Jackson as well as current White Sox hitting coach Greg Walker, former Cubs and Blue Jays Hitting Coach Gary Mathews, Sr. and current Tampa Bay Rays Manager Joe Maddon
- High School - St. Ignatius College Prep 1982-1986 (Catholic League Player of the Year 1985)
- Ranked one of the top ten high school shortstops in the state in 1986
- Only player to reach major league level in school history
- College - University of Illinois 1986-1990
- Ranks in the top 10 in many offensive categories including games played, hits and RBIs
- 1988 Baseball America Summer Team All American
- 1990 First Team All-American, Big Ten POY, Drafted 18th round by the California Angels
- Played professionally for 13 years (Angels, Yankees, Cubs, Brewers, Blue Jays and White Sox) including 5 years at Major League level (Retired from game in 2002)
- Has trained and worked with some of the areas top players for the past 20 years (14 years at Diamond Sports Academy) - - training both baseball and softball players in all areas of the game
- Plainfield resident, married father of 3 (ages 12, 9 & 3)
- Currently manages and trains the 12u Plainfield Diamond Dawgs
